Nucleus® MSR upright fluorescence microscopes
About This Series
The MSR microscope provides the robust foundation required for high-performance automated imaging. Ideal for high throughput imaging of slides, semiconductor inspection, and materials science. The MSR series delivers an open-architecture platform that is reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.
Built to Adapt: The modular design ensures you only pay for features you need. Nucleus' use of common optical standards makes it easy to swap between off-the-shelf illuminators, detectors, and/or custom components to meet your unique needs.
Open Software Ecosystem: Use our free Zaber Launcher application for fast set up and leverage our well-documented API to make scripting and integration straightforward. Zaber microscopes are also work seamlessly with Inscoper, VisiView, Starlyte Nebula, and µManager microscope software.
From Lab to Market: From early stage research, to prototype development, to commercial launch, the MSR series is built to scale with you. Startups and Integrators can develop on a fully-featured research system, then transition seamlessly to a production-ready imaging subsystem with no additional optical, electrical, or software engineering
Ready for Advanced Modalities: The MSR can be extended to support even more exotic optical configurations or adjusted on the fly to accommodate different sized samples.

- The MSR microscope features motorized XY positioning, focus, filter cube and objective changes allowing fully automated whole slide imaging.
- The 3-channel, LED epi-illuminator is designed to excite fluorophores from DAPI (390 nm) to Cy5 (650 nm).
- The microscope connects to your computer through a single USB port and allows control of all motorized and LED functions through µManager or Zaber Launcher.
- The modular design allows easy customizations. Please contact us for details.
Easy Set-Up
Zaber's Microscopes are easy to set-up and control:
- Assemble the microscope, using the easy-to-follow assembly instructions.
- Connect the joystick (X-JOY3) to the microscope and power up your system.
- Connect the joystick to the Microscope's controller (X-MCC2) and power up your system.
- Control all motorized and LED functions through µManager open source software or using the programmable joystick.
