X-DMA-AEZ Series

Objective nanopositioning stage with built-in controller

About This Series

Features for streamlining initial prototyping to production:

  • Plug-and-Play Architecture: Start moving in minutes with a built-in controller and a simple two-cable setup.
  • No-Code Optimization: Use the Zaber Launcher Oscilloscope & Servo Tuning to maximize throughput without writing a single line of code.
  • Easy Synchronization: Connect with third-party hardware and sensors via integrated I/O and encoder outputs.
  • Developer-Friendly API: Integrate quickly using a modern, open-source API with sample code for Python, C#, C++, and more.
  • Simplified Topology: Daisy-chain with XY stages and other modules using a single data/power cable to eliminate the "cable nest."
  • Instant Availability: Accelerate timelines with transparent pricing, downloadable CAD files, and shipping in less than one week.
  • Rapid Support: Stay on schedule with one-business-day response times from our technical support team.

  1. Control all units in the daisy-chain via serial port (with a locking X-SDC cable) or USB (with an X-USBDC cable).
  2. Daisy-chain additional units with a locking X-DC02 cable or X-DC06 cable. Power can also be shared in the chain.
  3. A passive user adjustable magnetic counterbalance compensates for payloads up to 1 kg. The counterbalance force can be finely adjusted in seconds with a single screw.
  4. Servo tuning parameters can automatically be optimized for any payload mass with our free software. Parameters can be adjusted on the fly.
  5. X-DMA-AEZ stages are designed for extreme reliability. Zero moving cables, combined with a non-contact drive and encoder result in an exceptionally robust system.
  6. Long life and high rigidity from ultra-smooth crossed roller bearings.
  7. Direct-drive voice coil motor provides excellent dynamic performance and is maintenance free.
  8. Two digital inputs, one digital output, and one analog input for interfacing with external systems. Interpolated RS422 encoder output is also available.

Easy Set-Up

Zaber's devices can share both data and power through a daisy-chain, which reduces cabling and makes set-up as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Connect the Zaber device to your computer via USB or RS-232 port.
  2. Connect the power supply to your Zaber device.
  3. Send instructions or automate your set-up using the Zaber Launcher.
