UHV-MOTORIZED-LINEAR-BELLOWS-STAGE

Custom Ultra High Vacuum, Motorized Linear Bellows Stage

In this custom application for a customer an X-LRQ-EC stage has been mated to a 2.75 inch conflat, edge welded bellows. The combination allows for 100 mm of linear travel in an ultra high vacuum (UHV) environment with stage and all electronics mounted external to the vacuum chamber. Reaching pressures as low as 10-9 Torr this configuration allows for simple precision motion control. The LRQ family of linear stage was a good candidate for this specific application, but other linear stages may also be appropriate depending on requirements.

Custom XYZ Gantry System

This XYZ gantry system uses the LRQ-EC series linear stages with dust covers to create a compact and protected system. Two stages are used in parallel to provide a stiff base for the system; they use the lockstep synchronization feature of the X-MCB2 to move together and feature side mounted motors to reduce the depth of the system. A VSR40A-T3 stage is used in the vertical axis to give the system a clear platform. The system is customized with tracking for cable organization.

Motorized Linear Stage with Second Carriage

This X-LRQ-E stage has a second carriage that is free-running, i.e. not driven by the lead screw and can move freely. The additional carriage reduces cantilever load on the driven carriage. For example, if an object mounted to the driven carriage has large dimensions along the axis of motion, the second, free-running carriage reduces the cantilever load.

LRQ Dual Drive

This LRQ stage has two independently driven carriages. This type of stage is ideal for space constrained applications requiring separate control of multiple payloads along the same axis of travel. This stage can be configured to allow up to 250 mm of travel per side. For synchronized movements, we recommend configuring this stage as a peripheral and controlling it with an X-MCC2

Custom Large Platform Vertical Stage

This image shows a custom large platform vertical stage consisting of two 75 mm travel LRQ-EC stages and an AP181 adaptor. The LRQ stages use the lockstep synchronization feature of the X-MCC to move together. This system is well suited for vertical applications requiring increased travel lengths or high stiffness. Longer travel lengths are available.

Custom Motorized Linear Stage with Higher Load Capacity and Stiffness

This LRQ stage has a larger stage top and doubles the number of linear bearings in the system. The maximum centered load, maximum cantilevered load, and pitch/roll/yaw stiffness are significantly improved from the standard version. This customization makes for an exceptional base stage in multi-axis systems.
