Modular System for Longer Travel
Need travel beyond 3.5 meters? We provide modular rail segments that join together for a longer range stage. The assembly process is straightforward, allowing a user to quickly construct it on-site and ensuring components can ship within a reasonable package size. This customization can also extend to the Belt-Drive LC40 Gantries to greatly expand the work envelope. Contact us to discuss this option for your application.

Custom Parallel Drive LSM
This parallel drive configuration of the LSM-E minimizes the total length of the stage with a side-mounted motor and shaft encoder. The compact form factor is ideal for space-constrained applications. For multi-axis motion, additional parallel drive or inline stages can be combined to optimize the overall system footprint. LRQ Dual Drive
This LRQ stage has two independently driven carriages. This type of stage is ideal for space constrained applications requiring separate control of multiple payloads along the same axis of travel. This stage can be configured to allow up to 250 mm of travel per side. For synchronized movements, we recommend configuring this stage as a peripheral and controlling it with an X-MCC2

Custom 2 Axis System
This image shows a custom 2 axis system consisting of two 100 mm travel LRT-AEC linear stages and a RST240B-E Series rotary table for high load vertical and rotary positioning. The LRT stages use the lockstep synchronization feature of the X-MCC to move together for improved load capacity and stiffness. A custom base plate for the RST240 allows for flexible mounting and full access through the 101.6 mm aperture.

Motorized Linear Stage with Custom Encoder Reader Cable
Zaber's controllers handle encoder feedback from motors directly, allowing automatic slip/stall detection and correction. Some applications include a second instrument that also uses the encoder signal. This X-LSQ-E linear stage demonstrates how an additional encoder output can be added to any stage with an encoder so that the signal can be shared.

Custom Motorized Linear Stage with Higher Load Capacity and Stiffness
This LRQ stage has a larger stage top and doubles the number of linear bearings in the system. The maximum centered load, maximum cantilevered load, and pitch/roll/yaw stiffness are significantly improved from the standard version. This customization makes for an exceptional base stage in multi-axis systems.

Motorized Linear Stage with Custom Stage Tops
This X-LSQ-E stage has a free-running second carriage not driven by the lead screw. The free-running carriage reduces cantilever load on the driven carriage. For example, if an object mounted to the driven carriage has long dimensions along the axis of motion, the second free-running carriage reduces the cantilever load.

XYZ Scanning System
This customized long travel XYZ scanning system for digitizing art demonstrates the versatility of the LC40B series linear stages. A driven axis and a passive guide combine to make the long horizontal gantry axis, while two motorized axes drive the vertical axis in lockstep. Additional carriages are included on each axis to help stabilize and balance the load. The vertical load is also balanced with a counter weight mounted to two passive LC40G rails on the back half of the tower, which means that even when the motors are unpowered the vertical load is supported. The T-slot extrusion of the LC40 stages allowed easy incorporation of additional components, including brackets, cable tracks, and locking caster wheels. An X-LRQ-EC stage adds in a high resolution focus axis.

Vacuum Compatible Connectors
We can provide vacuum compatible connectors (shown) on request. Please contact an application engineer for more details. Note: our vacuum devices are shipped with flying leads, which can be crimped, tied, or soldered together to create a daisy-chain, with only four feedthrough wires (2 power, 2 data) required for multi-axis motion in a vacuum chamber.

Zaber Technologies: Customized Multi-Axis Vacuum Devices
With small modifications to the stage top, our X-LSM-SV vacuum compatible motorized stages can be mounted directly to the X-LRQ-SV. Alternatively, an AP101-V adaptor plate can be used to mount the X-LSM-SV to our vacuum compatible linear and rotary stages. Because we have optimized our built-in controllers to withstand low and high vacuum pressure, they can be daisy-chained in a vacuum chamber. This means that multiple devices can share one power supply and a single connection to a computer, which reduces the number of wires to your feedthrough. Our vacuum devices are shipped with flying leads, which can be crimped, tied, or soldered together to create a daisy-chain, with only four feedthrough wires (2 power, 2 data) required for multi-axis motion in a vacuum chamber.
