Overview

The LML series is a crossed roller bearing linear stage designed to interface with Zaber's T-CD1000 or T-MCA stepper motor controllers. It is available in 3 models, LML15, LML25, and LML50 with travels of 15mm, 25mm and 50mm respectively.

Operation with T-MCA or T-CD1000 controller

If used with Zaber's T-MCA or T-CD1000 controller, little additional information is required. Program the T-MCA or T-CD1000 controller with the appropriate peripheral ID (see https://www.zaber.com/wiki/Manuals/T-MCA#Peripheral_Ids) and plug in your LML stage. The default settings should provide a working system but you may wish to fine tune the running current, hold current, speed, etc as needed to improve performance in your particular application. See the T-MCA or T-CD user's manual for information on how to do that.

Operation with other controllers

This device can also be used with non-Zaber controllers but some further information is required.

Connector Pin Diagram
A pin diagram for the connector can be found here: https://www.zaber.com/wiki/Manuals/T-MCA#Installation. This shows the mating connector on our T-MCA controller so looking at the end of the LML connector you should see the mirror image.
Motor
The motor is a Vexta bipolar stepper motor part number PK223PB wired in bipolar mode. See http://catalog.orientalmotor.com/item/all-categories/pk-series-stepping-motors/pk223pb for complete specifications.
Home limit sensor
The internal home sensor is an optical interrupt switch. The default output signal (non-active) is low (less than 2V). When active the output is in a high impedance state (open collector). Therefore if you wish the generate a TTL signal, you should add a pull-up resistor to 5V. Our T-MCA or T-CD controller uses a 10k pull-up resistor to 5V and also a 1uF capacitor to ground. The capacitor helps eliminate false home triggering in noisy environments.

Warranty and Repair

For Zaber's policies on warranty and repair, please refer to the Ordering Policies.

Standard products

Standard products are any part numbers that do not contain the suffix ENG followed by a 4 digit number. Most, but not all, standard products are listed for sale on our website. All standard Zaber products are backed by a one-month satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will refund your payment minus any shipping charges. Goods must be in brand new saleable condition with no marks. Zaber products are guaranteed for one year. During this period Zaber will repair any products with faults due to manufacturing defects, free of charge.

Custom products

Custom products are any part numbers containing the suffix ENG followed by a 4 digit number. Each of these products has been designed for a custom application for a particular customer. Custom products are guaranteed for one year, unless explicitly stated otherwise. During this period Zaber will repair any products with faults due to manufacturing defects, free of charge.

How to return products

Customers with devices in need of return or repair should contact Zaber to obtain an RMA form which must be filled out and sent back to us to receive an RMA number.
