Zaber’s direct drive vertical linear stages offer the outstanding precision, reliability, and speed of proven linear motor stage designs packaged with a magnetic counterbalance for vertical applications. These stages are available with integrated or standalone controllers in two form factors:
- X-LDA-AEZ Series, with up to 25 mm travel, 16 N payload capacity, and 200 nm repeatability
- X-LDM-AEZ Series, with up to 60 mm travel, 55 N payload capacity, and 80 nm repeatability
These stages combine nanometer level performance with intuitive, user-friendly operation. The integrated magnetic counterbalance’s force output can be finely adjusted in seconds and doesn’t require an air supply like conventional pneumatic designs. Servo tuning can be optimized for different payloads with a single click using our free software. These stages also feature our intuitive Zaber Motion Library API and ASCII protocol, providing seamless compatibility with Zaber’s full range of motion control products.
Due to their sub-micron repeatability and excellent small step performance, X-LDM-AEZ and X-LDA-AEZ series stages are optimal for applications such as:
- Objective focusing and microscopy
- Sensor testing and calibration
- Metrology and inspection
For multi-axis applications, these stages can be combined with Zaber’s direct drive linear stages or direct drive XY microscope stages to create XZ or XYZ direct drive systems.
