A finer pitch lead screw will give higher resolution and increase thrust at the expense of lower maximum speed. For most applications a medium resolution (B or H pitch) is appropriate. For higher top speeds select a coarse resolution (D pitch) and for heavy loads or to prevent backdriving without power, select a fine resolution (A pitch).

The A pitch is non-backdriving, so it can hold its position even without power. For higher top speeds select a coarser resolution (B, D or H pitch). For coarser resolutions, the optional power-off brake is helpful to prevent stage movement in the event of power interruptions, stalls, or driver faults.
