Custom 2 Axis System
This image shows a custom 2 axis system consisting of two 100 mm travel LRT-AEC linear stages and a RST240B-E Series rotary table for high load vertical and rotary positioning. The LRT stages use the lockstep synchronization feature of the X-MCC to move together for improved load capacity and stiffness. A custom base plate for the RST240 allows for flexible mounting and full access through the 101.6 mm aperture.

Custom 3-axis Controller
This custom 3-axis ControlCube is ideal for XYZ applications requiring fine displacement control. The intuitive layout permits precise and smooth manual operation for motorized systems, such as micromanipulators and microscope stages. The ControlCube offers similar functionality to Zaber's standard device knobs, providing much finer control. It works with modified Zaber stand-alone controllers and devices with built-in controllers, which are customized with a locking connector in place of the manual knob. The ControlCube can be paired with a standard joystick (X-JOY3) to add programmable buttons for varying the displacement increments of the dials or toggling between displacement and velocity control modes.

Custom Gantry
This custom-built frame provides a rigid base for two stages to be mounted in an XZ configuration. The frame was designed to minimize unwanted movement during acceleration and deceleration. Mounting frames can be tailored to fit an application's load, mounting, and spatial requirements.

Custom Two-Axis Rotary System
This two-axis rotary system consists of two X-RSW-E mounted together with a custom angle bracket. The angle bracket was custom made to fit our customers needs. These stages have built-in controllers, motor encoders, and can be daisy-chained together to connect to a single serial or USB port. Power can also be daisy-chained from a single power source, making the devices easy to control and minimizing cable tangling. We have free software and LabVIEW driver available. Combine this with a customized slip ring to allow continuous rotation of both axes without tangling wires.

Custom XYZ Gantry
This system takes advantage of the two-axis controller's lockstep movement feature, which drives two parallel motors together to increase thrust and balance off-center loads. In this case, the system is attached to a configurable aluminum extrusion, allowing easy mounting in either a vertical or horizontal configuration.

Custom XYZ Gantry System
This XYZ gantry system uses the LRQ-EC series linear stages with dust covers to create a compact and protected system. Two stages are used in parallel to provide a stiff base for the system; they use the lockstep synchronization feature of the X-MCB2 to move together and feature side mounted motors to reduce the depth of the system. A VSR40A-T3 stage is used in the vertical axis to give the system a clear platform. The system is customized with tracking for cable organization.

Custom XYZ Gantry with Adaptor for an SBS Standard Multiwell Plate
This XYZ system is made of three linear stages mounted together with AB103B angle brackets. In addition, a custom-made adaptor holding a SBS standard (127.5 x 85 mm) multiwell plate is mounted to the Z-axis stage. The high resolution and repeatability offered by the system make it suitable for automating microscopy or pipetting applications. The stages can also be configured in different ways by removing a stage for an XY set-up, or changing the orientation and placement.

Multi-Axis Stages with Custom Lengths and Cable Tracking
While Zaber's linear stages come in a variety of length options, some applications have a combination of space constraints and minimum travel distances that the standard options can't meet. The above system shows an example where the length was customized in each axis to best fit inside a compact volume. It also includes cable tracking.

XYZ Scanning System
This customized long travel XYZ scanning system for digitizing art demonstrates the versatility of the LC40B series linear stages. A driven axis and a passive guide combine to make the long horizontal gantry axis, while two motorized axes drive the vertical axis in lockstep. Additional carriages are included on each axis to help stabilize and balance the load. The vertical load is also balanced with a counter weight mounted to two passive LC40G rails on the back half of the tower, which means that even when the motors are unpowered the vertical load is supported. The T-slot extrusion of the LC40 stages allowed easy incorporation of additional components, including brackets, cable tracks, and locking caster wheels. An X-LRQ-EC stage adds in a high resolution focus axis.
