LDM-AEZ Series
Ultra precision vertical stages
About This Series
Zaber's LDM-AEZ Series devices are motorized stages delivering the high precision, reliability, and speed of LDM-AE linear motor stages in a package for vertical applications. A passive magnetic counterbalance compensates for payloads up to 55 N, preventing unwanted motion during power loss. The counterbalance’s force can be finely adjusted in seconds with a single screw.
These stages are designed to connect directly to our X-MCC controller using a single cable. Set-up is easy with AutoDetect. Once connected, the X-MCC controller will automatically detect and configure the LDM-AE.

- Panel Mount DB26 with AutoDetect allows the LDM-AEZ to be easily connected to an X-MCC Series controller and ready to use without additional user input.
- A passive magnetic counterbalance compensates for payloads up to 55 N. The counterbalance force can be finely adjusted in seconds.
- Servo tuning parameters can automatically be optimized for any payload mass with our free software. Parameters can be adjusted on the fly.
- LDM-AEZ stages are designed for extreme reliability. Zero moving cables, combined with a non-contact drive and encoder result in an exceptionally robust system.
- 1 nm resolution linear encoder is centrally mounted for optimal accuracy and repeatability.
- Ultra-smooth crossed roller bearings provide long life and excellent pitch, roll, and yaw specifications.
- Side mounted ironless linear motor provides excellent dynamic performance, while improving repeatability by keeping heat away from the stage’s encoder scale.
Easy Set-Up
With AutoDetect, the X-MCC controller will automatically detect and configure the peripheral. Zaber's devices can share both data and power through a daisy-chain, which reduces cabling and makes set-up as easy as 1, 2, 3:
- Connect the X-MCC controller to your computer.
- Connect the controller to the peripheral and plug in the power supply.
- Send instructions or automate your set-up using the Zaber Launcher.
