LDA-AE Series

High precision linear motor stages with built-in linear encoders

About This Series

Zaber's LDA-AE Series devices are motorized linear stages delivering high speed, precision, and reliability in a compact package. A centrally mounted linear encoder results in up to 1 µm position accuracy and consistent movement steps down to 12 nm. LDA-AE devices feature non-cogging ironless linear motors, providing high speed and acceleration capabilities. Both the drive and encoder are non-contact and have no moving cables, resulting in an extremely robust system.

The stages are designed to connect directly to our X-MCC using a single cable. Set-up is easy with AutoDetect. Once connected, the X-MCC controller will automatically detect and configure the LDA-AE.

  1. LDA-AE stages include alignment features for precision assembly of orthogonal XY configurations without additional hardware.
  2. Panel Mount DB26 with AutoDetect allows the LDA-AE to be easily connected to an X-MCC Series controller and ready to use without additional user input.
  3. Side mounted ironless linear motor provides excellent dynamic performance, while improving repeatability by keeping heat away from the stage’s encoder scale.
  4. Ultra-smooth crossed roller bearings provide long life and excellent pitch, roll, and yaw specifications.
  5. LDA-AE stages are designed for extreme reliability. Zero moving cables, combined with a non-contact drive and encoder result in an exceptionally robust system.
  6. 1 nm resolution linear encoder is centrally mounted for optimal accuracy and repeatability.
  7. Servo tuning parameters can automatically be optimized for any payload mass with our free software, when paired with the X-MCC controller family. Parameters can be adjusted on the fly.

Easy Set-Up

With AutoDetect, the X-MCC controller will automatically detect and configure the peripheral. Zaber's devices can share both data and power through a daisy-chain, which reduces cabling and makes set-up as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Connect the X-MCC controller to your computer.
  2. Connect the controller to the peripheral and plug in the power supply.
  3. Send instructions or automate your set-up using the Zaber Launcher.
