Electronics Engineer - Intermediate / Senior
Posted Date: 1/30/2026
Zaber is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to help design and evolve precision motion control products used in scientific, industrial, and automation applications. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy end-to-end design ownership, making thoughtful engineering tradeoffs, and contributing to technically robust products that ship at scale. While this role does not involve direct people management, there are technical leadership opportunities.
You’ll join a collaborative Electronics team that works closely with Firmware, Mechanical, and Software engineers to solve diverse design challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to influence architecture, mentor teammates, and help raise the technical quality of our designs. We primarily develop PCBs for user-friendly motion controllers and precision sensors. But, depending on the project, you may have the opportunity to apply broader electrical engineering and physics skills.
Zaber designs and manufactures precision positioning devices and motion control systems that are used worldwide for scientific, industrial, and automation applications. As part of our engineering team, you’ll support Zaber's goal of creating flexible, affordable, and irresistibly useful automation technologies by designing hardware that balances high performance, robustness, cost, and versatility.
As an Electronics Engineer, you will:
Design new circuit boards, from prototyping new ideas to detailed design, schematic creation, PCB layout and board-level testing.
Support our team's continuous improvement efforts by revising existing boards with fixes and new features.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
Support regulatory EMC compliance efforts, including working with external test labs.
Write scripts for automated testing and validation.
Have opportunities to work on adjacent topics such as motor design and magnetics simulations.
You’re the ideal Electronics Engineer if you have:
5–10 years of experience designing and shipping electronic hardware.
Proficiency in PCB design and schematic capture using KiCad or similar EDA software, including circuit analysis and simulation.
Hands-on experience with soldering and board bring-up to move designs from concept to functional prototypes.
Expertise in motion control electronics, including motor drives or switching power supplies (AC-DC/DC-DC).
Experience designing precision analog circuits for sensors or encoders and working with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
You’d be a great fit for our Electronics Engineer role if you enjoy:
Making architectural decisions and balancing performance, cost, and reliability.
Investigating problems thoroughly to understand the root cause.
Applying creative circuit design to solve real world problems
