Mounting with Internal Holes
Important: Removing the dust cover to access internal mounting holes can change the tension of the dust cover. It can lead to reduced thrust and speed and premature wear if not done correctly.
- Move the carriage so it is at least 50 mm (2") from the motor end of the stage. Choose a position where the carriage does not block the mounting holes that you are planning to screw the stage down with.
- Loosen the two screws holding the dust cover clamp to the motor end plate 1/2 a turn.
- Remove the two screws and clamp holding the dust cover on at the opposite end.
- Lift the dust cover up (stainless steel foil) and bend it back in a wide radius. The edges are sharp - Be careful! Do not kink the foil - it is thin.
- Mount stage using mounting holes inside.
- Lay dust cover flat and re-install clamp at end opposite to motor. Install screws finger tight.
- Tighten screws at motor end clamp 1/2 turn to their original position.
- Tighten screws at opposite end to motor completely.
