Micro Linear Actuators with Built-in Controllers: T-NA Series

Zaber's T-NA series products are computer controlled linear actuators with 50nm resolution and up to 50 mm travel. They are stand alone units requiring only a standard 15V power supply. Multiple units can be daisy-chained to the RS-232 port of any computer, or via standard USB-to-serial adaptors. They can also be daisy-chained with any other T-Series products. Convenient 6-pin mini din cables on the unit allow for direct interconnection between units in close proximity. For longer distances, standard cable extension can be used. Even the power is daisy-chainned, reducing the cabling necessary for large systems.

Features

1. Optional manual control knob allows the user to move the linear actuator at a constant speed.
2. LEDs indicate the power and communication status of the actuator at a glance.
3. Multiple units can be daisy-chained and controlled via serial port without additional hardware.
4. Powered by standard AC/DC adaptors (included in kits), a convenient and inexpensive solution.
5. All of Zaber's T-Series products have integrated stepper motor controller and motor driver!
6. Powerful and compact NEMA08 stepper motor is matched to the built-in controller.
7. Precision leadscrew, stepper motor and advanced algorithm enable 50nm resolution.
8. Flexible M3 mounting interface, two on the bottom and two on the side.
9. Standard mounting interface replaces most manual micrometer heads.
10. M3, flat tip, or ball tip interface option included with every actuator.

To control actuator position, simply transmit the unit number of the actuator you want to move, a simple move command and the position desired. After the move, the actuator will report its position back to the computer. For a detailed list of available commands see the T-NA User's Manual .

An optional manual control knob at the end of the unit permits smooth manual control. During a manual move the actuator constantly transmits its position so the controlling computer can track it. An industry standard 3/8" micrometer shank with 3/8-32 thread allows the T-NA to fit many popular stages. The shaft of the T-NA unit does not rotate. No torque is transmitted to the translation stage, ensuring precise motion of the payload.
