Low Vacuum Motorized Mirror Mounts with Built-in Controllers

T-MM-V Series

  • Too Many Cables to Manage?

Zaber's vacuum devices daisy-chain inside the vacuum chamber to reduce wiring clutter.

  • Daisy-Chain Devices Inside the Vacuum Chamber
    • Devices have built-in controllers, so they can be daisy-chained
    • Only 1 feedthrough for several devices
    • Power also daisy-chains between devices

  • Vacuum Device Packaging
    • High vacuum devices are packaged in Ultra Low Outgassing (ULO®) polyethylene bags
    • High vacuum devices are double-bagged in the cleanroom
    • Low vacuum devices are packaged in single bags
    • Read More
  • Clean Room Assembly
    • All high vacuum parts are cleaned either ultrasonically or by hand using isopropyl alcohol
    • Following cleaning, the parts do not leave the cleanroom, and they are only handled with gloved hands
    • High vacuum devices are assembled in a class 100 (ISO class 5) cleanroom
    • Low vacuum devices are assembled following our regular assembly procedures

  • Vacuum Compatible Motors
    • High and low vacuum devices use specially designed vacuum stepper motors
    • High vacuum motors are rated for vacuum levels of 10-6 Torr
    • Low vacuum motors are rated for vacuum levels of 10-3 Torr

  • Material Selection
    • Materials selected based on low outgassing and compatibility with NASA TML and CVCM requirements
    • Vacuum compatible greases used in both high and low vacuum devices
    • Vented, stainless-steel screws are used on all high vacuum devices; non-vented stainless steel screws are used on all low vacuum devices
    • Circuit boards in high vacuum devices are Parylene coated for vacuum compatibility
  • Spectroscopy Application

This image shows Zaber's low vacuum actuators and translation stages set up inside a vacuum chamber to precisely drive the target and optics.

"We use Zaber actuators because they are so easy to daisy-chain in a vacuum, and we can think about the experiments we want to do without having to worry about complex wiring or programming. They save us time and money. I would happily recommend them."
