Compact Motorized Linear Actuators: LAC Series

LAC Series micro actuators are designed for use with our A-MCA series stepper motor controllers. These actuators achieve resolutions down to 0.024 µm, with a range of up to 10 mm. Controllers can be daisy-chained with any other Zaber A-Series or T-Series products to a single serial or USB port.

1. Compact end mount design containing a precise and repeatable hall-effect home sensor.

3. Integrated leadscrew and leadnut enables a very compact linear actuator design
4. Designed for use with the A-MCA Series stepper motor controllers attached with a D-sub 15 cable.
5. D-sub 15 connector has locking capability to prevent accidental unplugging.
6. 10 mm of travel with a resolution of 0.024 µm.
7. Standard mounting interface replaces most manual micrometer heads.
8. M3, flat tip, or ball tip interface option included with every actuator.

With the A-MCA controller, Zaber's intuitive windows software makes it easy to control the speed and position of the unit, change the device settings, and write custom scripts. For Labview users, we offer a free Labview certified driver. After completing a move command, the stage will report its position through the RS-232 link. For a detailed list of available commands see the A-MCA User's Manual .

A knob at the end of the controller permits smooth manual control. Turn the knob a little and the unit will move at microns per second. Turn it fully to get faster speeds, up to the preset target speed. During a manual move the A-MCA constantly transmits its position so the controlling computer can track it.
